The TREAT Experience
At Treat we believe that every BODY is unique and beautiful on the outside and on the inside. And just like you are unique and beautiful, the therapy and treatment has to be customized to fit your body's unique needs. Unless you specify a certain modality you want to experience, we will blend our expertise in all the bodywork modalities we offer into one therapy session that we believe will benefit you the most.
We will combine techniques from the traditional Western Massage modalities outlined below with Eastern Acupressure and blend in CranioSacral Therapy and Reiki Healing techniques. Usually the Treat Experience starts like a regular massage session, i.e. undressed to the level of your comfort, lying on a massage table. We will, however, after detailed discussion with you, adjust this initial positioning as meets your body's abilities and your comfort level. We respect everybody's personal space and will work with energy techniques in case direct touch proves to be too much for you.

MASSAGE MODALITIES
Swedish Massage
Swedish Massage is a system of long rhythmic strokes, kneading and friction techniques on superficial layers of muscles. We combine this with passive joint movements. Swedish massage is the most common and best-known type form of bodywork performed today. Swedish massage is highly beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility.

Sports Massage
An Athlete’s peak performance may be dependent upon the proper use and application of sports massage. More than a treatment for injuries, sports massage produces overwhelming benefits for athletes physically, physiologically, and psychologically.
Sports massage is designed to prepare the athlete for their best performance, reduce fatigue, and relieve muscle swelling and tension. During physical activity—especially strenuous—muscle tension builds up in the body’s soft tissues. Due to overextension or overuse, minor injuries and lesions occur in these tissues that can cause a great deal of pain and poor athletic performance. Sports massage helps alleviate pain and prevent such injuries that greatly affect flexibility, mobility, response time, and overall performance in athletic events.

Myfascial Release Technique
Myofascial release is a tender mixture of stretches and massage techniques. A bodywork therapy in which your Treat therapist directs hands-on touch and maneuvers to the entire body, myofascial release promotes healing and relieves pain. Derived from the Latin words "myo" - meaning muscle, and "fascia" - for band; myofascial release therapy releases tension from the fibrous bands of connecting tissue which are called fascia.
